Turn right and keep heading down towards the dock, stopping at the General Store. Leave the church yard and go back down the path to the crossroads. After Lissie walks away, find a section of the stone wall near the notice board where you can sit down and make the next drawing (3/9). Talk to Lissie here, then approach the church and read the sign on the boarded-up entrance. Read the notice on the board, then continue forward into the cemetery. Open these and keep going up the winding path. Now go west along the path, past Lissie, to find some closed gates. Return east past the crossroads and go up the hill further to the east until you find a small rock. Go inside and explore, then come out and talk to Lissie about everything. Knock on the doors of the 2 houses along the south side of the street, then open the door of the one with the writing on the door to the north. Head down the path and talk to Lissie in the tree. Stand up and repeatedly call out to Lissie to find out where she is Co-dependent. After reviewing your journal, turn around and find the small well to the left of the farmhouse and make your first drawing (1/9). Stand up and go outside to talk to Lissie, using any available option. You will walk back towards the farmhouse Blue skies in Norway. Down at the dock, check the wooden cage, then talk to Lissie about any of the available options. Chase after an animal until you fall down, then pick up your glasses and keep going. Following the markers, climb over the wall, then climb over the fallen beam. Check the footprint on the ground, then go forward and open the gate. Inspect the scarf on the mannequin, then sit down on the sofa next to Lissie.Īfter you wake up, head back through the sitting room and entrance room, then go outside. Open the door just to the left, and you will bring a mannequin out from the closet. Newspaper clippings (May 1902, July 1902, September 1902)Ĭontinue to the next room and examine the mirror twice.Letter on the dining room table (Hanover, Betty, SS Bergensfjord)Ĭontinue into the small sewing room and find these points of interest:.Fireplace, where you can pick up a burned book. Window, where you must look through first (church).Family portrait (daughter, Johan Fretland, Anna Fretland).Make sure you examine all of these points of interest and discuss all topics with Lissie: Finally, go through the other door into the sitting room. Take a quick look upstairs, then try to go back out through the front door twice. Open the door to the right to find the kitchen. Knock on the door, then open the door and head inside "Knock, knock". Throughout the remainder of the game, talk to Lissie at every opportunity. Rest whenever you get the opportunity, and talk to Lissie when you reach the farmhouse. Smothered by the sea, ravaged by bestial frequency, DOOM assuredly and austerely spelled out either way, WITCHBONES commits you to the gravest depths of The Seas of Draugen. After rowing to shore and reading the letter, start heading up the hill towards the farmhouse. Crushing but cast away, doomed to solitude and one's own internal destruction, the literally massive, ever-so-slowly-roiling maelstrom WITCHBONES conjures forth is echoed within the thematic arc of The Seas of Draugen itself: setting sail with "The Nun Collector," taking in a "Nebulous Ghost Ship" later on, and sending that listener to the torrid depths, that veritable Davy Jones' Locker of the soul & spirit, with the concluding trifecta of "The Ritual Continues (We Haunt Ourselves)," "At the Shores (Draugen's Revenge)," and "The Candle Burns Alone (Dead Sailors)." Like its aquatic, mythological namesake, here does Vardlokker drown the listener in wave after wave of shuddering, shivering horror that looks and sounds and feels very much like familiar bestial black/death, but is instead uniquely imbued with a wandering, amorphous atmosphere that creates a truly unsettling tension. More momentum continued with the Akasha II The Lost Demos compilation and then another EP, The Mirror Effect, slated for Halloween.īut, like a man possessed, Vardlokker aligns himself with IRON BONEHEAD to unleash WITCHBONES' densest and most penetrating recording yet, The Seas of Draugen. At the beginning of 2019 alone, mainman Vardlokker released two EPs a month apart - Akasha and Entropy Rite, respectively, through WITCHBONES' Bandcamp - and right behind it, the aptly titled debut album We Haunt Ourselves. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, just last year did WITCHBONES form but soon began an onslaught of dark 'n' devastating short-lengths. IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS is proud to present WITCHBONES' highly anticipated second album, The Seas of Draugen, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
